Saviolo Publisher is a publishing conmpany out of Italy. Their launch into ecommerce was a particually intreswting one as they has several specific needs when caluclating their shipping costs.
Saviolo's shipping cost is programmed into the shopping cart is such a way that upon selection of a customers region they have a certain calculated rate for that particular zone. These zone based rates are set and configured directly by Saviolo via the back end system of their shopping cart. This feature was made possible by creating a custom programming module that fit the needs and specifications of the business. Many problems like this have been solved in E-commerce before and can usually be resolved by applying Third-Party mods or Plug-ins to an existing system.
